Heeter comes to Richmond from Indiana University, where he worked directly with the Hoosiers’ men’s basketball program as a graduate strength coach and sport science coordinator. He designed and directed team and individualized lifts, managed GPS tracking and athlete load monitoring via Catapult technology, and developed performance dashboards to support real-time decisions for coaches, athletic trainers, and team physicians. While at Indiana, he also lectured as an instructor for the kinesiology course "Programming for Sports Disciplines."
In addition to his time with Indiana men’s basketball, Heeter served as Head Strength Coach for The Basketball Tournament (TBT), overseeing training for 13 professional athletes, including multiple NBA players. He has also trained NBA G-League players in a private setting, tailoring post-injury performance and return-to-play programs.
Heeter is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Indiana University and has received his master’s in kinesiology with a concentration in sport and coaching science from his alma mater in 2025.
