Polin Shares Lead, Spiders Fourth at RedHawk Intercollegiate

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Senior Quin Polin fired a career-low 6-under-par 65 Monday afternoon to move into a tie for the individual lead through two rounds of the RedHawk Intercollegiate at Pittsburgh Field Club.
Polin followed an opening-round 69 with five birdies and an eagle in Round 2 to finish the day at 8-under par (134), tied with Miami's Jack Callahan atop the 84-player leaderboard. Polin's 6-under tied for the sixth-lowest round in program history.
"I just kept the ball in front of me and tried to limit mistakes," said Polin after the round.
As a team, Richmond shot rounds of 2-over 286 and 5-under 279 to finish Monday in fourth place at 3-under par (565). The Spiders' second-round score was a seven-shot improvement from the morning and moved them within one shot of third-place Butler. Ball State leads the 14-team field at 11-under, one shot ahead of VCU.
Freshman Davis Conaway shot rounds of 70 and 71 and is tied for 16th at 1-under par (141).
Senior Jack LaPiana improved four shots between rounds, following a 3-over 74 with a 1-under 70 to finish the day tied for 36th at 2-over par (144).
Graduate student Mason Deal and senior Parker Moellinger are tied for 61st at 6-over par (148). Deal shot rounds of 75 and 73, while Moellinger carded rounds of 73 and 75.
Competing as an individual, junior Tommy Sharps is tied for 66th at 7-over par (149) following rounds of 76 and 73.
The RedHawk Intercollegiate will conclude Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Polin will be hunting his first career individual medalist honor. His best tournament finish as a Spider is currently a runner-up at the 2025 Monterrey Collegiate Classic.
