Richmond, Va.— Richmond junior defensive end Daniel Sellers was named to Bruce Feldman's 2026 college football "Freaks List," as released by The Athletic Monday. Sellers is ranked No. 98 overall on Feldman's top 101 listing of the most physically gifted athletes in college football.
Sellers makes his first appearance on the Freaks List as the end emerged as a playmaker during his sophomore season in 2025, recording 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks while forcing two fumbles.
The 6-3, 253-pound Pittsburgh native continued his development during the offseason, earning Richmond's Gus Lee Winter Warrior Award, which honors the player who made the biggest strides during offseason workouts.
"He's a freak in the weight room because he can squat 600 pounds, he can bench 455-plus and can power clean around 365, and he moves so fast," Richmond strength coach Scott Brincks said. "You just don't see that in a normal human. He's that much of a freak when it comes to those things."
The Spiders open the season at home on Aug. 29 when they host Bucknell under the lights at 6:00 p.m. during Red Out Robins. Tickets for all six home games at Robins Stadium are available by calling 1-877-SPIDER-1, visiting the Robins Center Ticket Office, or online at the link here.
