NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association honored 128 Division I student-athletes with selection to the 2026 All-Region teams, with those players now eligible for national IWLCA All-American honors.
Â
Among those recognized was junior goalkeeper, Abby Francioli.Â
Â
Francioli earned First Team All-South Region honors and was the only goalkeeper selected to the South Region first team. She became the sixth Spider to receive first-team recognition, the program's first goalkeeper to earn first-team honors and just the second goalkeeper in school history to be named to an IWLCA All-Region team.
The junior also was named Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year and earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors.
Â
Anchoring Richmond's defense, Francioli helped the Spiders allow 8.12 goals per game. She posted a .482 save percentage and averaged 6.06 saves per game while recording 13 victories.
Â
Francioli matched her season high with 10 saves in wins over then-No. 12 University of Virginia and University of South Florida. She started all 17 games this season, logging 795 minutes, 13 seconds while recording 107 saves, 19 ground balls and two caused turnovers.
