Three Spiders Capture Wins at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Richmond competed in its first day of competition at the Colonial Relays at Zable Stadium on Friday. Highlighting the day were Molly Wise, who won the long jump, Mia Paolino, who won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and William Marhold who won the 1,500 meters.Â

Wise won the long jump with a mark of 6.24 meters.

Paolino won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:48.01.

Alexandra Cahill finished fourth with a personal-best time of 15.26 in the 100-meter hurdles. Cahill also ran a personal-best time of 26.67 in the 200 meters.

Two Spiders finished with personal-best times in the 400 meters. Morgan Elliott finished eighth with a time of 57.87, and Aaleyah Foster finished ninth with a time of 57.95.

In the 5,000 meters, three Spiders posted personal-best times. Lily Strebel finished 14th with a time of 17:50.79. Estella Bruneau finished 19th with a time of 18:03.87, and Samantha Lorey finished 31st with a time of 18:53.41.

In the 10,000 meters, Mollie Fenn finished fifth with a time of 37:10.32, and Lydia Shields finished sixth with a time of 37:17.21.

Members of the cross country team also competed on Friday. Marhold won the 1,500 meters with a personal-best time of 3:56.90, and teammate Carter Bruns finished ninth with a time of 3:59.15. Jack Levine ran a personal-best time of 4:07.35.

The Spiders return to the track Saturday for the final day of the Colonial Relays. The meet will begin at 11:55 a.m.
