Richmond Features Four First Team, Eight Total Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans

Richmond, Va. – Eight members of the top-ranked University of Richmond men's lacrosse team were named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans Friday. Senior captains Aidan O'Neil (A), Joe Sheridan (M), Jack Pilling (SSDM), and Hunter Smith (D) earned First Team honors, while Gavin Creo (M), Vincent Gaylord (FO), Brayden Penafeather-Stevenson (LSM), and Connor Knight (G) received Honorable Mention recognition.
The selections reflect Richmond's 2026 season. The Spiders are one of two undefeated teams remaining in the nation, having won 18 of their last 19 games, and are ranked No. 1 nationally for the first time in program history across all three major polls. Richmond leads the country in points per game, scoring margin, and shooting percentage, while ranking second nationally in both scoring offense and scoring defense.
Offensive players among the honorees include Aidan O'Neil, who has 46 points on 20 goals and 26 assists, ranking fourth in the NCAA in assists per game (2.89) and fifth in points per game (5.11), and is on the Tewaaraton Watch List. Joe Sheridan has 27 points on 17 goals and 10 assists, a .585 shots-on-goal percentage, a 26-game point streak, and is also on the Tewaaraton Watch List. Gavin Creo has 28 points on 23 goals and five assists, a .479 shooting percentage (14th in the NCAA), and a 17-game point streak.
Defensive players include Jack Pilling, who has 26 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, ranking second nationally among non-pole players in caused turnovers, and Brayden Penafeather-Stevenson, who has 31 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, ranking second and third on the team in those categories, respectively. Hunter Smith averages 2.33 caused turnovers per game, ranking seventh nationally. Freshman faceoff specialist Vincent Gaylord has won 93 of 148 faceoffs (.628, ninth nationally) and has 56 ground balls (12th nationally).
In goal, Connor Knight has a 7.58 goals-against average and a .578 save percentage, ranking fourth nationally in both categories, with a 9-0 record.
Richmond's four First Team selections are the most of any program, while its eight total honorees are tied for second nationally behind Princeton and North Carolina (nine) and tied with Syracuse (eight).
