Wilson Collects Second A-10 Rookie of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Spider Baseball's Evan Wilson was named Atlantic 10 Conference Under Armour Baseball Rookie of the Week for a second time this season, the league announced Monday afternoon. His first weekly honor came on March 23.
Wilson, in four starts in right field, put together a .500 batting average, .556 on base percentage and 1.313 slugging percentage. He had eight hits, including four home runs, eight RBI, scored six runs, walked once and had a stolen base.
In the Spiders 10-2 midweek win at James Madison, Wilson hit a two-run home run to right field in the first inning.
He jump started a six-run first inning April 18 against Dayton with a solo home run off the batter's eye in center field before wrapping the scoring up that inning with a two-RBI base hit to right field. As the Spiders cruised to a 16-6 victory, Wilson hit the left side of the batter's eye with another solo home run in the seventh inning.
Wilson again got the Spiders offense going in Sunday's 11-9 win over Dayton with a solo home run to right field in the second inning. He scored on Chris Schaller's three-run home run in the third before collecting an RBI base hit to left center in the fourth inning.
For the season, Wilson is hitting .319 with an OPS of 1.081 and a slugging percentage of .606. He has 30 hits, six doubles, seven home runs, 20 RBI, 17 walks, 11 hit by pitches and seven stolen bases in 27 starts.
