RICHMOND, Va. – Inside Lacrosse Women announced its Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-Americans on Wednesday. Among the honorees is senior Alexis Morton.
Â
Morton was named an honorable mention All-American for the first time in her career. Through nine games, she has tallied 59 points on 32 goals and 27 assists. She has also collected three ground balls and caused six turnovers.
Â
As the team's leading goal scorer, Morton has helped lead the Spiders to a 9-2 record and a 5-0 mark in Atlantic 10 play. Nationally, Morton ranks No. 10 in points per game (5.40) and is tied for No. 23 in assists per game (2.30).
Â
Earlier this season against VCU, Morton tied the program's single-game record with 11 points and eight assists. She is only the fourth Spider in program history to reach 11 points in a game and just the second to record eight assists in a single game. The last time a Spider reached 11 points was in 2018, when Kim Egizi did so against George Mason, and in 2021, when Rachel Ziemba accomplished the feat against George Mason.
