Richmond, Va. — University of Richmond lacrosse senior midfielder and team captain Joe Sheridan has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in Richmond's 8–7 victory over defending national champion and fifth-ranked Cornell Saturday.
Sheridan led the game with four points, tallying two goals, two assists, and a ground ball. Down 7–5 with 11:59 remaining, Richmond scored the game's final three goals to secure the win, with Sheridan involved in each. He assisted Lucas Littlejohn at 10:03 to pull within one at 7–6, scored the game-tying goal at 4:43, and then set up Gavin Creo for the game-winner at 1:04.
The victory extended Richmond's current streak to 14 wins in 15 games, handed Cornell its first regulation loss since May 3, 2024, and helped the Spiders achieve the highest national ranking in program history at No. 2 in the Inside Lacrosse poll.
Next, Richmond hosts No. 13 Georgetown Saturday at noon.
