Lee, Sharps Make Season Debuts at Coach Sykes

RALEIGH, N.C. — Spiders sophomores Tyler Lee and Tommy Sharps made their season debuts at the Coach Sykes Individual at NC State's Lonnie Poole Golf Club Saturday, playing two rounds before Sunday's final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
Sharps, who appeared in two events for the Spiders as a freshman last season, shot rounds of 7-over (78) and 4-over 75 to finish at 11-over par (153), tied for 58th in the field of 76 golfers.
Lee, who transferred to Richmond from California last January, opened with a 2-over 73 and finished with a 10-over 81 for a 36-hole total of 12-over par (154), tied for 61st.
With steady rain preventing play on Sunday, Tennessee's Bruce Murphy was declared the winner at 10-under par (132).
Richmond will return to action at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate Classic in Southern Pines, N.C. on March 9-11.
