RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's soccer team has the honor of highlighting freshman Julia Lishia as this week's Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Lishia shares the honor with VCU's Isabelle Franklin. The award marks the first weekly honor of Lishia's career and the third consecutive week a Spider has earned the league's rookie recognition, following Emma Newman and Morgane Zinn.
Lishia, a Valencia, Pa. native, recorded her second collegiate assist in Richmond's 1-1 draw at Howard on Sunday, setting up Kiley Fitzgerald's equalizer in the 51st minute. She logged 104 minutes across the two-match week, including a start against Radford, while tallying one shot on goal in the 1-1 result against the Highlanders.
Through six matches, Lishia has registered two assists, two shots on frame and 338 total minutes in her debut season.
The Spiders take on Queens (N.C.) at 2 p.m. in Charlotte on Sept. 7, before visiting Longwood on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. to round out non-conference play.
