Cimillo, Stripling Collect Weekly A-10 Field Hockey Honors

WASHINGTON, DC – Amanda Cimillo and Amy Stripling have been named Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday. This is Cimillo's first weekly award while Stripling has captured back-to-back first year honors.
Richmond, 3-3 on the season, captured 2-1 victories over Georgetown (Sept. 12) and at Old Dominion (Sept. 14). The Spiders open A-10 action Friday, Sept. 19, hosting Lock Haven at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
Cimillo, a native of Pleasant Valley, NY, allowed only two goals on the weekend while making seven total saves on nine shots on frame. She led the defense to only allowing 20 total shots over two games. Cimillo is 3-3 on the season with 21 saves for a .636 save percentage.
Stripling, a Darwin, Australia native, was right in the middle of both game-winning goals. She got the assist on Clara Larripa's game winner over the Hoyas then stuffed the ball past the Monarchs goalkeeper to capture the victory. On the season, Stripling is second on the squad with seven points on three goals and one assist.
