COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four members of the Richmond field hockey program were named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports Events (PSE), the organization announced Thursday.
Juniors Clara Larripa and Valen Luna Paratore make their second-straight appearance while sophomore Grace Wiggins and rookie Amy Stripling collect their first national preseason accolades. The quartet joins 192 other student-athletes over 64 NCAA Division I programs on the watchlist.
Earlier this week, Larripa and Luna Paratore were named to the 2025 Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Preseason All-Conference Team. The duo led the 2024 Richmond offensive output, combining to tally 57 points on 24 goals and nine assists over 19 games and powered the Spiders to its first A-10 Championship appearance since 2021.
Wiggins started in the midfield in all 19 contests for the Spiders in her rookie season, tallying 10 points on four goals and three assists, including a game-winning goal against Davidson. She competed at USA Field Hockey's 2025 Nexus Championships in July.
Stripling, a native of Darwin, Australia, joins the Spiders after gaining experience with Australia's Northern Territory State teams from the U13s to U21s. She also played with the SRA Territory Stingers Senior Womens and the Australian U18s National Future squads.
Richmond opens the 2025 season Friday, hosting Longwood at 5 p.m. and takes on national champion and top-ranked Northwestern Sunday at noon. Both games are free to attend at Crenshaw Field and will be streamed on ESPN+.
This list is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and nominated by their NFHCA member coach. This list does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region or All-American teams.
