07/23/2025 | Women's Basketball
ATLANTA – The University of Richmond women's basketball team earned a special mention on the 2024–25 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The Spiders posted a 3.492 cumulative team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually honors women's basketball programs across all divisions that achieve the highest combined GPAs, inclusive of every student-athlete on their rosters. The 2024–25 season marks the 30th year the WBCA has compiled the honor roll.
Richmond, led by head coach Aaron Roussell, was one of just 119 programs nationwide recognized across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and two-year colleges. Programs earning at least a 3.0 GPA and considered for Top 25 placement receive special mention distinction.
"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said Danielle Donehew, WBCA Executive Director. "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"
