RICHMOND, Va. — Head Coach Adam Denton and the University of Richmond women's soccer team announced the 2025 fall schedule on Friday featuring 18 regular season matches including eight home games at President's Field at River Road and 10 road contests.
"We can't wait to get started with the team for the fall 2025 season," Denton said. "We graduated a lot of players last fall, but we had a very good spring bringing our younger group together. We have another challenging schedule this year, and we're excited to get our players together for the preseason and get the season going."
The Spiders kick off preseason play with a pair of exhibition matches, welcoming Loyola Maryland to President's Field on Aug. 3 before heading into the mountains to face ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn. on Aug. 9. Richmond will officially open its regular season with an in-state road contest at VMI on Aug. 14.
The regular season home opener is set for Aug. 17, when the Spiders welcome Coastal Carolina to campus. The match will be followed by a Thursday evening tilt against ECU on Aug. 21. Richmond closes the month with a trip to Wofford on Aug. 24, a home match against Radford on Aug. 28 and a road game at Howard on Aug. 31. Non-conference play continues in September with visits to Queens on Sept. 7 and Longwood on Sept. 11.
"In our non-conference schedule, we compete against teams from several strong conferences, giving us a variety of matchups that help prepare us for Atlantic 10 play," Denton said. "The challenge of competing at this level is being physically and mentally prepared for every game, regardless of the opponent or location."
Atlantic 10 action gets underway on Sept. 21, when the Spiders travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a matchup against Duquesne. Richmond then hosts George Mason on Sept. 25 before hitting the road to face Fordham on Sept. 28 to round out September.
The Spiders then return home to play host to Dayton and Rhode Island on Oct. 2 and Oct. 5, respectively. Richmond will travel to the Windy City for a matchup against Loyola Chicago on Oct. 12 before a crosstown visit to rival VCU on Oct. 16. The Spiders then host George Washington on Oct. 19 and wrap up the road schedule with a trip to Saint Joseph's on Oct. 23. The regular season concludes at home on Oct. 26 against St. Bonaventure for Senior Day.
Denton, now in his third season at the helm of the program, welcomes back a core group of returners along with a standout class of newcomers. The 2025 roster will feature eight incoming freshmen: Jess Moylan, Andee Costabile, Emma Newman, Julia Lishia, Morgane Zinn, Isabel Seifert, Anna Nelson and Macray Marchione.
The Spiders also added two transfers in the spring season in Audrey Brown, a goalkeeper from Illinois State, and Erika Schneider, a defender from Pitt.
"We're thrilled to introduce the 2025 recruiting class as the newest members of our Spider Family," Denton said. "As we strive for even greater success within the A-10 Conference and beyond, each of these young women bring unique strengths that will help us reach our goals. Combined with our two spring transfers, this incoming group enhances the talents of our current roster. The future of Spider Soccer at the University of Richmond is bright, and we're eager to see what's ahead. Go 'DERS!"
