RICHMOND, Va. — University of Richmond head women's basketball coach Aaron Roussell has been selected as a court coach for the 2025 USA Basketball Women's U19 National Team trials, which will be held June 18 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., USA Basketball announced on Thursday.
"I'm incredibly honored to be a part of USA Basketball and to work with some of the top coaches in our profession on this staff," Roussell said. "USA Basketball is the pinnacle of opportunities as a coach and has always been a dream of mine. It will be an amazing experience, both personally and professionally, and one that will also benefit Richmond Women's Basketball."
Roussell, who recently earned his second consecutive Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honor and was named the 2025 ECAC Coach of the Year, is coming off a historic run with the Spiders. Richmond has gone 33-3 in conference play over the last two seasons and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in April for the first time in program history.
This marks Roussell's first assignment with USA Basketball as the trials will determine the 12-player roster that will represent the United States at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup, held July 12-20 in Brno, Czechia.
