06/17/2025 | Women's Basketball
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the women's basketball pairings for the Spiders ahead of the 2025–26 season on Tuesday. The back-to-back A-10 regular season champions will play an 18-game conference schedule that includes home-and-home matchups with Davidson, Rhode Island, George Mason, St. Bonaventure and VCU.
Richmond play host to Loyola Chicago, Duquesne, La Salle and Fordham at the Robins Center, where the Spiders have compiled a 26–2 home record over the past two seasons. Road-only matchups include trips to Saint Louis, Dayton, George Washington and Saint Joseph's.
The Spiders enter 2025–26 fresh off the most successful two-year stretch in program history. In 2024–25, Richmond went 28–7 overall and 17–1 in league play, capturing a second straight regular season title and notching the program's first NCAA Tournament win — a first-round win over No. 9 Georgia Tech in Los Angeles. The Spiders finished the season ranked in the NET top 50 and posted a program-record 17-game winning streak during the season.
Head coach Aaron Roussell, two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, returns for his seventh season at the helm with a strong core of returners including A-10 Player of the Year Maggie Doogan and several key additions. Incoming freshmen Ava Persichetti, Rayne Wright, Shaneka Campbell and Aneisha Scott join the program along with graduate transfers Skylah Travis (Louisiana, Mizzou, Old Dominion) and Tierra Simon (Saint Louis).
Roussell enters the season with a 434–186 career record and a 64–33 mark in A-10 play during his tenure at Richmond.
Season tickets for the 2025–26 campaign will go on sale soon. All questions regarding season tickets can be answered by calling 1-877-SPIDER-1.
