Atlantic 10 Announces Men's Basketball Opponents for 2025-26

RICHMOND, Va. – The Atlantic 10 announced pairings for the 2025-26 men's basketball season Tuesday. Richmond will play an 18-game conference schedule that includes home-and-home series against five opponents: Davidson, George Washington, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and VCU.
The Spiders will also host Dayton, George Mason, La Salle, and Saint Joseph's at the Robins Center. In addition to their trips to Davidson, George Washington, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and VCU, the Spiders will visit Duquesne, Fordham, Loyola, and Saint Louis.
The 2025-26 season will be Richmond's 25th as a member of the Atlantic 10, which contracted to 14 teams during the offseason with the move of Massachusetts to the Mid-American Conference. Richmond Athletics is currently accepting deposits from new season ticket holders for the 2025-26 season. The season ticket renewal process is expected to begin in early July.
2025-26 will be the 13th time in the last 14 seasons Richmond plays a home-and-home series against VCU, a stretch broken only by the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season. The series, known as the Capital City Classic, is UR's most frequently played home-and-home series since the Rams joined the Atlantic 10 in 2012.
Richmond split a pair of meetings vs George Washington last season and has won nine of the last 11 games in the series. 2025-26 will be the fourth straight season the Spiders have played a home-and-home series with the Revolutionaries.
The Spiders will also face Davidson twice during the regular season, hosting the Wildcats at the Robins Center and visiting Belk Arena, where they've won four of their last five games.
Richmond's home-and-home series vs St. Bonaventure will be its third vs the Bonnies over the last 10 years and its first since the 2022-23 season.
This will be UR's first home-and-home series against Rhode Island since the Spiders joined the Atlantic 10 in 2001.
The 2025-26 Spiders return three of their top five scorers from last season and feature a class of four incoming transfer students: Jaden Daughtry (Indiana State), Will Johnston (Loyola Marymount), AJ Lopez (Maine), and David Thomas (DePaul).
