RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond Baseball graduate infielder Brady O'Brien has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Atlantic Region Second Team, the organization announced June 10. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
O'Brien is the first Spider to receive recognition by the organization since third baseman Tyler Plantier collected ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region East First Team accolades in 2019.
The North Andover, Mass., native anchored the hot corner, starting 50 games for the Spiders in his lone season with the program in 2025. O'Brien finished the regular season ninth in the nation with a .777 slugging percentage and 11th in the country in both home runs (20) and RBI (72). The 2025 Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist wrapped up the year on a 22-game streak reaching base, 25 multi-hit games, and 19 multi-RBI games, including two games with more than five RBI. O'Brien hit 17 of his 20 home runs against league pitchers, while hitting .367, with a 1.313 OPS and slugging .898 with 47 hits, 15 doubles, 12 walks and 51 RBI in league games.
He was also named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team in May and the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team earlier this month.
