Richmond earned its sixth NCAA Tournament berth with a 16-10 win over High Point in the Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday. The Spiders head into the postseason riding an eight-game winning streak and boasting a program-record 13 victories this season.

Defensively, the Spiders rank second nationally in both scoring defense (7.75 goals allowed per game) and scoring margin (6.06), while also ranking third in caused turnovers per game (11.44) and second in clearing percentage (.917).
Offensively, Richmond is equally strong, ranking ninth in the nation in both scoring offense (13.81 goals per game) and points per game (21.81), and 12th in assists per game (8.00).
This marks Richmond's third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years, as it continues to pursue its first-ever tournament win. Notably, this year's senior class began their careers at North Carolina during Richmond's most recent matchup with the Tar Heels—a 13-9 UNC victory on Feb. 11, 2022.
North Carolina enters the game with a 10-4 overall record, including a 3-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 8 in the latest national polls and most recently fell to Duke in the ACC semifinals, 14-7.

First-round matchups (May 10-11) will be held on campus sites at the higher seed, with the quarterfinals (May 17-18) hosted by Hofstra and Navy. The winner of Saturday's contest will face the winner of top-seeded Cornell and the UAlbany/Siena play-in game in Hempstead, N.Y. next weekend.
