
Six Spiders Earn Atlantic 10 All-Conference Baseball Honors

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of Richmond baseball team had six student-athletes earn 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference accolades, as voted on by the league's coaches the conference announced Wednesday. Jack Arcamone, Jordan Jaffe and Ryan Bilka collected All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors, while Aaron Whitley was named to the Second Team. Whitley joins Brady O'Brien and Phil Bernstein receiving All-Academic accolades.
Arcamone, a sophomore catcher from Trumbull, Conn., finished the regular season 14th in the nation with 22 doubles while ranking in the top 10 in the league in batting average (.355), RBI (62), runs (58), walks (38) and slugging percentage (.675). He had 18 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI games including a career high six RBI against Saint Joseph's, including a grand slam. Arcamone also had home runs against NC State and Boston College. Against A-10 opponents, he had a .328 average, 1.062 OPS, .630 slugging with 39 hits, eight home runs, 34 RBI and 23 walks.
Jaffe, a junior first baseman from Thousand Oaks, Calif., started in every contest for Richmond this season. He led the team with 79 hits, while second on the squad and top 10 in the league in average (.364), runs (62), doubles (19), and walks (23). Jaffe paced the team reaching base in 34 straight games, collecting 25 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI games, including four against UMass Lowell. In conference contests, he hit .325, with a .896 OPS and slugged .500, with 41 hits, seven doubles, five home runs, 30 RBI and 16 walks. This is his second all-conference honors in his career after earning A-10 Rookie of the Year in 2023.
Bilka, a junior right-handed relief pitcher from Latham, N.Y., completed the season ninth in the nation ERA (2.18) and tenth in WHIP (0.90). He finished in the top the league in hits allowed per nine (6.24), second in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.38), third in Walks allowed per nine (1.89) and seventh with six victories. He paced the Spiders with 18 relief appearances for 62.0 IP, 57 strikeouts, and holding batters to a .193 average. Bilka tossed 42 innings in A-10 action, striking out 40, collecting three wins and three saves, including two against UMass. He twice posted a season-high six strikeouts, against Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island and struck out five in five innings against Boston College to collect the victory. Bilka also went 20 straight innings, over six games, without allowing a run and another 15.2 innings, over four games, without allowing a run.
Whitley, a graduate outfielder from Niskayuna, N.Y., finished the regular season top 10 among the league in doubles (18), hit by pitch (20), runs (69), stolen bases (36), and toughest to strikeout (9.7 at bats). His 36 stolen bases over 41 attempts set a new single season program record. Patrolling center field in all 52 contests for Richmond, in 145 chances he made 141 putouts with four assists and no errors. He collected three hits against Boston College, two against NC State and one each against Virginia and Penn State. Whitley had a season-high six RBI against St. Bonaventure with two home runs. Last season, Whitley was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
O'Brien, a graduate third baseman from North Andover, Mass., finished the season ninth in the nation with a .777 slugging percentage and 11th in the country in both home runs (20) and RBI (72). The 2025 Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist wrapped up the season on a 22-game streak reaching base, 25 multi-hit games, and 19 multi-RBI games, including two games with more than five RBI. O'Brien hit 17 of his 20 home runs against A-10 pitchers, while hitting .367, with a 1.313 OPS and slugging .898 with 47 hits, 15 doubles, 12 walks and 51 RBI in league games.
Bernstein, a graduate outfielder from Brooklyn, N.Y., finished his career at Richmond with 10 multi-RBI games, including four against Towson while hitting home runs against Fairfield, Lafayette and Fordham. Only starting in 43 games this season due to injury, Bernstein hit .327 average, with a .907 OPS, 50 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs, 32 RBI, 34 walks and five hit by pitches. He was the fourth toughest to strikeout in the league, striking out once every 10.9 at bats. This is his second league All-Academic honor.
Richmond finished the season 33-19 on the season and 14-16 in Atlantic 10 Conference action.
