O’Brien Named 2025 Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist

DALLAS – The Dick Howser Trophy Committee, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, has announced University of Richmond's Brady O'Brien as a semifinalist for the 2025 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear.
This prestigious award in college baseball has been given to the top player based on two rounds of national voting by NCBWA members since 1987. This is the 38th year of the Dick Howser Trophy and the 2025 finalists will be announced on Thursday, June 7 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, the home of the NCAA Men's College World Series, prior to the first game of the 78th NCAA College World Series.
O'Brien, a graduate student from North Andover, Mass., is one of 67 nationwide candidates, one of seven third basemen and the only Atlantic 10 Conference representative his year.
Heading into today's action, O'Brien ranks seventh nationally with a .789 slugging percentage, ninth nationally with 19 home runs, 11th nationally with 68 RBI over 47 games at third base this season. 16 of his 19 team-leading home runs have come in conference games and has four games with at least two home runs, including a three-home run game against Fordham.
