
Weatherhead Qualifies for NCAA Zone Diving Championships

 CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The University of Richmond's diving team competed at the Virginia Tech Diving Invitational today at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. Highlighting the day was junior Tess Weatherhead who earned a qualifying score sending her to the 2025 NCAA Zone Dive Championships.

1-Meter Dive
Junior Tess Weatherhead scored 227.20, placing 16th in the first round. In the consol, she finished with a personal best of 265.9 and earned a qualifying score sending her to the 2025 NCAA Zone Dive Championships held March 10-12 at Princeton, N.J.
In the preliminaries, junior Sally Harrington scored 229.70 placing 15th. Later in the consol dive, Harrington finished ninth.Â
3-Meter Dive
In the preliminaries, sophomore Rachel Vandersea finished 17th with a score of 217.10. Freshman Allison Brennan placed 19th with a score of 188.70.
Up next, the Spiders will compete at the Atlantic 10 championships Feb. 19-22 in Hampton, Va. at the Hampton Aquaplex.Â
