Field Hockey Adds Maryland Transfer Lillian Buckwalter

RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Lillian Buckwalter has joined the Richmond field hockey program as a midyear transfer from the University of Maryland, Spiders head coach Martu Loncarica announced Wednesday.
Buckwalter, a native of Lancaster, Pa., saw limited action as a defender in her three seasons for the Terps program. After redshirting her freshman fall season in 2022, Buckwalter saw time in five games over the past two seasons. She was named to NFHCA Academic Squad and Academic All-Big Ten as a sophomore in 2023.
Buckwalter played four years of varsity field hockey for the Conestoga Valley program and earned Lancaster Lebanon League All Star honors three times, including First Team in 2021. She was a Top 10 scorer in the Lancaster Lebanon League Section 1 and collected All-League Team in 2021. In 2019, she helped her prep team to the Lancaster Lebanon League Section 1 title. Buckwalter also played for the X-Calibur hockey club team and helped the squad to a 2020-21 National Indoor Pool title, a 2021 JPOL runner-up and 2021 National Club Championship appearance.
