RICHMOND, Va. – The NCAA released updated four-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores for its member institutions and their associated teams Tuesday, with five Richmond Athletics programs earning perfect scores of 1,000. Richmond's field hockey, men's cross-country, men's golf, women's golf, and women's lacrosse programs all received the highest possible APR score of 1,000 for the four-year period that now includes all data through the 2022-23 academic year.
In addition to the five Spiders programs earning perfect scores, two more than last year, 15 Richmond programs received APR scores above the Division I average in their sport. All 16 Spider teams (including indoor and outdoor track & field as one team), received scores of 975 or higher, well above the 930 required by the NCAA.

Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for remaining eligible and 1 point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.
The NCAA's Academic Performance Program has established an essential framework for academic excellence. The program provides measurable goals to ensure schools are fulfilling their commitment to equipping student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to achieve academic success.
