Nwakalor named Atlantic 10 Co-Women’s Performer of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced the weekly awards for swimming and diving. Among the award winners was sophomore Melissa Nwakalor.
A native of Columbia, Md. Nwakalor was named Co-Women's Performer after a record-breaking performance at the Patriot Invitational last Thursday.
Breaking her own record in the 50-free, Nwakalor broke the school record and the Atlantic 10 conference record by swimming the first leg in the 200-free relay at a 22.28 split. Later in the finals, she matched a pool record at 22.30, finishing first. Her performance set a new personal best and made the NIC A cut for the CSCAA. Both her 50 and 100-free times are the best in the conference.
