Spiders Edged At Dayton, 2-1

DAYTON, Ohio-- Erin Layne scored her first goal of the season but Richmond fell at Dayton, 2-1, Friday night.
The Flyers struck first when Colleen Williams scored her league-leading 16th goal in the game's 17th minute off a pass from Meghan Scharer. Dayton would strike again when at the 34 minute mark to take a 2-0 lead.
Richmond would counter when Layne shot in a lock kick by way of Kristin Lescalleet just before the half. The Spiders fell to 7-9-1, 3-4-1 while Dayton improved to 13-4-0, 7-1-0.
Layne led all Spiders with five shots. Andrea Young had 10 saves in goal.
Richmond plays at Xavier Sunday at 1 p.m. in its final regular season game.
