
Women's Soccer Blanked By Oregon State

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Richmond women's soccer team lost to Oregon State 4-0 Sunday in the UNC Greensboro adidas Classic.
The loss gave the Spiders a split in the UNC Greensboro adidas Classic. Richmond, which is 2-2 overall, defeated previously undefeated Old Dominion 2-1 on Friday.
Oregon State out-shot the Spiders 14-8 on the game, but the two teams each took six shots in the second half. The Beavers scored two goals in each half as they improved to 3-1 on the season.
Oregon State got on the board just 4:34 into the match when Jetta Sadusky took a cross from Lauren Wippel and gave the Beavers a 1-0 lead. Richmond fell behind 2-0 in the 29th-minute and just 2:29 into the second half Stacey Mescher scored an unassisted goal to put Oregon State up 3-0. Jen Crump scored her second goal of the season on a shot from 15 yards out off an assist from Jodie Taylor for the final margin.
Richmond senior goalkeeper Kelly Kolker (McLean, Va.) made six saves in goal for the Spiders.
The Spiders return to action Friday afternoon in the VCU/Eurosport Invitational against UNLV at 4:30 p.m. at Sports Backers Stadium. Richmond will play Florida Atlantic next Sunday at 11 a.m.
