CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The University of Richmond women's soccer team played Dartmouth to a 0-0 tie in the first game of the University of Virgina Tournament on Friday evening.
The tie moves the Spiders record to 3-1-1, while Dartmouth is now 1-1-1.
The Spiders were outshot, 17-9, but Richmond's Megan Cox (Raleigh, N.C) was stellar in goal, recording eight saves.
Richmond senior Jenna Merriam (Voorhees, N.J) recorded three shots for the Spiders and junior Molly Rettig (Hummelstown, Pa.) had two shots in the contest.
Richmond returns home to First Market Stadium to take on the Rams of VCU at 7 pm on September 20.
