Crenshaw Field hosts the University of Richmond field hockey home games, and is one of the best field hockey facilities in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
The facility received the first half of a face lift in summer 2018 with the installation of an updated AstroTurf field and water guns. In 2019, work began on the support facility at Crenshaw Field. This facility includes home and visiting team rooms, spectator restrooms, a press box and filming positions, along with enhanced landscaping highlighting the entrance into the facility from Crenshaw Way.
Lights were added prior to the 2014 season where the Spiders played its first night game at Crenshaw Field on Nov. 1, 2014 when Richmond took on ACC foe Duke.
On May 1, 2004, a special ceremony and plaque dedication for Fanny Crenshaw, a coach and member of the University of Richmond's faculty for 41 years, was held at the field.
Crenshaw Field has been the host of many conference championships, and features amphitheater seating and also serves as a training site for the USAFH Futures program.
